C. Thayer Kern

General Manager

Thayer is a ten year veteran of the club industry, having worked at some of the finest private clubs in South Florida. These include Orchid Island Golf & Beach Club, Ibis Golf & Country Club and Frenchman’s Creek Beach & Country Club. Thayer is a native of Denver, Colorado and a graduate of Metropolitan State University. He holds a Sommelier Certification and CMAA, BMI certification from UNLV School of Hospitality.

ryan Lahey

Membership Director

Ryan started his private club career in Hilton Head South Carolina as Member Service Director for the South Carolina Yacht Club. Prior to moving his family to St. Augustine, Ryan served as a Senior Sales Broker for a full service real estate firm in Southern Maine. Ryan’s experience, enthusiasm and knowledge of The Lodge & Club as well as his relationships with our club members make him a great asset as Membership Director here at The Lodge & Club

Ashley Feil

Member Relations Manager

After graduating from Texas A&M with a degree in Kinesiology, Ashley moved to Florida and has been with The Lodge & Club since 2015. There is something for everyone here at The Lodge, and we love giving new ideas a try.  She aims to wow our Members with one of a kind events that leave them with lasting  phenomenal impressions!

robert coryell

Director of Rooms

Robert came to the Gate Hospitality Group in 2014 working in the Front Office at the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club. Over the next three years Robert held an array of leadership positions and was promoted to The Lodge and Club in 2017, as Director of Rooms. Robert’s goal is to develop relationships with our club members and create memorable experiences for each. Robert is a die-hard Seminole having earned his Hospitality Management degree from the Dedman School of Hospitality at Florida State University.

cameron walton

Executive Chef

Cameron graduated from Scottsdale Culinary Institute in the spring of 2001. After completion of his culinary training he was hired at The Royal Palms Resort and Spa in Phoenix Arizona. Within two years, Cameron earned a sous chef position and continued to grow with the team. In 2004 Cameron moved to Atlanta Georgia and was named Chef de Cuisine of D. Morgan’s Restaurant and Wine Bar. After the first three years of opening D. Morgan’s the restaurant was awarded AAA four diamonds. In 2007 Cameron begin working at TPC Sawgrass as Executive Sous Chef. In 2015 he left TPC and was named Executive Chef of North Florida Retirement Village in Gainesville Florida. Cameron has recently accepted the position of Executive Chef at The Lodge and Club and is excited to lead the culinary team to new heights.

Pete Peterson             

Director of Food & Beverage

Pete began his professional life as a Scuba Diving Instructor at resorts in the Caribbean over 25 years ago.  As a native Canadian he had always known that his draw to the South was irresistible. His career in hospitality management has since taken him to luxury hotel and resort properties the Virgin Islands, Savannah, Orlando and St. Augustine.  He is thrilled at the opportunity to join the The Lodge & Club team and enjoys the history and stunning beauty of the property as much as the family atmosphere and getting acquainted with the Members.

darren angle

Gym and Beach Rentals Manager

Darren Angle,a native of St. Louis, relocated to Jacksonville in 1989 after serving in the U.S. Marine Corps.  Darren brings over 15 years of supervisor/management experience from such companies as Comcast, State Farm and the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club.  Darren joins us from PVIC where he has served as Gym Supervisor since 2014 and has been part of The Gate Petroleum family for the past 7 years.  In his spare time, Darren enjoys attending local sporting and entertainment events with his wife and son.

jENNIFER DAHLBERG

Special Events & Catering Sales Director

Born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida, Jennifer  spent many childhood weekends at The Lodge & Club. Her experience in hospitality began in 1997 in restaurants and catered events in the Jacksonville and Fort Lauderdale areas.  As a UNF Communications major, she started out as the Marketing and Special Events Coordinator for a local wine and retail venue.  She was then hired on as the House Manager and Director of Event Services for the historic Florida Theatre from 2004-2013, managing over 1,400 live events locally, ranging from theater and dance, to concerts, speaker series and private events.  Jennifer transitioned into luxury resorts and sales in 2013 in Catering Sales and Group Sales Manager positions, and as Director of Catering at One Ocean Resort & Spa in Atlantic Beach.  In 2018, she joined The Lodge & Club family as the Special Events & Catering Sales Director.   Jennifer spends her time off property with her husband and their two sons.
